Marvel Rivals, the team-based hero shooter, will introduce a new Avengers player-versus-player (PvP) mode titled “The Path to Doomsday” this weekend. The update pits Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against the villain Loki.

This new mode expands the game’s offerings following the ongoing Season 7.5, which currently features the Blood Hunt PvE (player-versus-environment) mode. The addition delivers on previous promises for new content and asymmetric gameplay, aiming to refresh the competitive landscape for players.
New Avengers PvP Mode
The Path to Doomsday mode will bring back several iconic Avengers characters to the battlefield. While specific character details for the mode were not immediately available, Loki is confirmed as a central antagonist, creating a classic Marvel conflict within the game. Marvel Rivals is known for its roster of 48 characters from Marvel Comics at its initial release, allowing for diverse team compositions.
Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play, 6v6 third-person hero shooter developed by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games. The game features destructible environments, allowing players to alter battlefields strategically. It supports cross-platform play across its available platforms: Windows PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X/S.
The game initially launched for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on December 6, 2024, with a PlayStation 4 version following on September 12, 2025. Players can download Marvel Rivals from digital storefronts such as the Epic Games Store and Steam.

The introduction of The Path to Doomsday PvP mode signifies NetEase Games’ commitment to continually expanding gameplay options and keeping the title updated with fresh content.
