Mojang has released Minecraft 26.2 Snapshot 6, introducing new Sulfur Cube archetypes and reverting prior changes to the Sulfur caves biome.
This update is part of the upcoming “Chaos Cubed” game drop and continues the game’s focus on converging chaos with creativity. The new features aim to enhance gameplay and world design by responding to community feedback.

The new Sulfur Cube archetypes include “Slow Bouncy” and “Hot.” The Slow Bouncy variant activates when a Sulfur Cube absorbs a Stone block, resulting in slow speed, high bounciness, and buoyancy. The Hot archetype, triggered by absorbing a Magma block, causes the Sulfur Cube to deal damage on contact.
Furthermore, the snapshot redesigns surface Sulfur Springs features and makes the Sulfur Caves biome less likely to generate under oceans, hills, or mountains. Notably, the update removes Tuff and Granite blocks from Sulfur Caves, a change made in response to player feedback to increase Sulfur Pool generation and restore the biome’s identity.
Additional updates in Snapshot 6 include support for Gallo, Uzbek, and Võro languages. A new “Uh Oh” Husbandry achievement is also available for players who have a Sulfur Cube absorb a TNT block.
Minecraft snapshots allow players to preview upcoming features and provide feedback on ongoing development. Players can access these experimental builds through the official Minecraft launcher. More information on Minecraft and its updates is available on the official website.
