Verizon has reportedly discontinued its 3-year price lock guarantee for myPlan wireless plans, a commitment initially made in April 2025.
This move removes a key assurance for customers who subscribed to myPlan, expecting stable monthly costs for their mobile services amidst a period of rising consumer expenses. The guarantee was designed to offer predictability in pricing.

The Verizon price lock guarantee was announced by the carrier around April 3-4, 2025, applying to both myPlan and myHome network plans. It was intended to cover the base monthly rate for talk, text, and data, explicitly excluding taxes, fees, and optional perks.
Initially, existing myPlan customers were automatically enrolled in the guarantee, and any changes made to a myPlan would reset the 3-year lock from that point. However, the price lock was quietly removed for new myPlan activations or line changes occurring on or after June 16, 2026. This date coincided with the introduction of Verizon’s new Simplicity Plan.
Customers who enrolled in a myPlan option prior to June 16, 2026, will reportedly retain their 3-year price lock guarantee on the base monthly rate for its full duration.
The myPlan system allows users to choose from three unlimited plans and customize them with various perks, such as streaming bundles or additional mobile hotspot data. Each of these perks typically incurs an extra monthly fee. The original guarantee was part of Verizon’s broader strategy to strengthen customer relationships and provide financial predictability in a competitive wireless market.
Despite the price lock on the base plan, reports indicated that Verizon had already found methods to increase overall customer costs through other fees, even while the guarantee was active.
Verizon has not issued a public statement regarding the discontinuation of the price lock. Customers can find more information about Verizon myPlan details and current offerings on the company’s official website. For specific inquiries regarding existing plans and their price lock status, customers may need to consult Verizon Support directly.
