Google has initiated the rollout of a vibrant, fullscreen redesign for its Search Live interface. This update follows a recent refresh of AI Mode’s interface, according to a report from 9to5Google.
The new visual approach aims to deliver a more dynamic and engaging experience for users seeking real-time information through Google Search. Search Live allows users to have real-time conversations with search using camera input and their voices.

Specifically, the redesign introduces a distinctly vibrant aesthetic to the full-screen presentation of Search Live. This feature typically provides immediate updates and live results for various queries, such as ongoing events, sports scores, or breaking news.
Earlier this year, Google also updated the user interface for its AI Mode. This mode integrates generative artificial intelligence directly into search queries, offering summarized information and conversational follow-ups.
These consecutive interface adjustments highlight Google’s ongoing commitment to evolving its core search products and improving user interaction. Google has been consistently iterating on AI Overviews and AI Mode since their respective launches in 2024 and 2025.
Moreover, Google consistently refines the user experience across its extensive product portfolio. Updates to fundamental services like Google Search are part of this strategy, often focusing on improving visual clarity, responsiveness, and overall user engagement. The current redesign of Search Live fits within this broader effort to modernize digital interactions and adapt to evolving user expectations for rich, visually driven content.
The emphasis on a “vibrant” design suggests a move towards a more visually stimulating and interactive search environment. Furthermore, the company has been making efforts to show more links and context within its AI search features.
The deployment of this updated Search Live design is currently in progress. Users can expect to encounter the refreshed fullscreen experience as it becomes available across their devices in the coming weeks. Search Live expanded globally to over 200 countries and territories in March 2026.
