Google is reportedly planning a significant upgrade to its experimental Gemini Agent feature, aiming to transform it into a 24/7 digital partner.
This enhanced AI assistant, internally codenamed “Remy,” is designed to manage complex, multi-stage tasks. It will reportedly achieve this by taking actions on users’ behalf and integrating deeply across various Google services.

The upgraded Gemini Agent is expected to handle proactive tasks such as communication, document sharing, and even purchases. It will leverage user data from chats, connected apps, and location to do so. Remy is also intended to monitor user preferences and learn over time, providing a more personalized experience.
The Gemini Agent was first reported in November as an experimental feature, introduced alongside Google’s Gemini 3 AI model. Evidence of the planned upgrade has since been spotted in the latest Google app beta. Earlier reports detailed Google’s Gemini Agent Prepped as 24/7 Digital Partner, highlighting its potential for broader integration across devices.
However, Google acknowledges the feature remains experimental and may make mistakes, advising caution with sensitive tasks. To ensure user oversight, individuals are expected to maintain control via a task dashboard to supervise actions taken by the agent.
Currently, the experimental Gemini Agent is available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. Reports also suggest Google is exploring an “AI Ultra Lite” tier, potentially priced between $20-$250 monthly, to make advanced Google Gemini features more accessible to a wider audience.
