Players in Unknown Worlds Entertainment’s Subnautica 2, which entered Early Access on May 14, 2026, must locate Silver to upgrade their oxygen tanks for deeper underwater exploration.
Silver is a critical early-game material, enabling players to access new areas and progress through the open-world survival game.

Finding Silver in Subnautica 2
Finding Silver requires exploration beyond the starting biome, typically at depths of 30 meters or more within caves. Players can collect small Silver ore nodes by hand, while larger Silver outcrops necessitate the use of a Sonic Resonator tool.
Early-Game Silver Locations
For initial Silver acquisition, several locations are recommended. A cave located approximately 200 meters north of the lifepod, near the Angel Comb and the “Blackbox – Anita” signal, contains small Silver ore nodes. Another viable early-game spot is a cave between the Lifepod and the Old Habitat, roughly 400 meters north of the Lifepod. Additionally, the Necrolei Fields, situated about 370 meters north-northwest of the lifepod and identifiable by vibrant pink and blue plants, also feature Silver ore deposits. Players can also find Silver in a glowy area approximately 100 meters south of the Lifepod.
Advanced Silver Farming
Once players obtain the Sonic Resonator, larger Silver nodes become accessible. A rocky biome located 200 meters southeast of the lifepod, characterized by numerous rock pillars, is a prime farming spot for these larger deposits. Another area rich in large Silver nodes is found 417 meters southwest of the lifepod at a depth of around 70 meters, also featuring stone pillars.
