Epic Games has scheduled the Fortnite Shattered live event for Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7 PM ET, marking the climactic conclusion of Chapter 7 Season 2. The event will resolve the ongoing conflict between The Foundation and the Ice King.
This end-of-season spectacle is expected to reshape the game’s island, transitioning into the upcoming Chapter 7 Season 3, reportedly titled “Runners.”
How to Join the Shattered Event
Players should launch Fortnite at least 30 to 60 minutes before the scheduled start time. Epic Games will open event lobbies 40 minutes early, at approximately 6:20 PM ET, to manage player traffic. Due to high concurrent player counts, early login is recommended to avoid server strain and lengthy queues.
Once in the game lobby, players should navigate to the Discover menu and select the dedicated Shattered event playlist. Standard Battle Royale, Zero Build, and most other playlists will be disabled when the event access window opens.
Event Details and Rewards
The Shattered event will feature a cinematic narrative, with players’ in-game faction choices potentially influencing their experience. Weapons are expected to be disabled during the event’s progression.
Epic Games will offer exclusive cosmetic rewards for participation. All players who attend the event will receive the Chaos Cutlasses pickaxe. Additionally, players who attend with at least one friend in their party will unlock the Bark Voyager sidekick. These rewards will appear in players’ lockers after the new season goes live.
Upcoming Season
Following the Shattered event, Fortnite servers will undergo maintenance before the launch of Chapter 7 Season 3. The new season is confirmed to arrive on June 6, 2026.
