Google announced new Gemini-powered AI creation tools are rolling out to Google TV users on select devices. The update brings Nano Banana for image creation and Veo for video generation directly to smart TVs, enhancing creative capabilities on the big screen.
This integration allows users to leverage Google’s generative AI from their television, expanding creative options beyond mobile devices. The features aim to simplify content generation for a broader audience directly from the living room.

Nano Banana is Google’s AI model designed for generating and editing images from text prompts or existing photos. Users can modify images, change backgrounds, or create new scenes through voice commands. Veo, Google’s video creation tool, enables users to generate short video clips from text prompts or animate still images into moving scenes.
The initial rollout for these features is targeting Gemini-enabled TCL Google TV devices in the U.S. Eligible devices include TCL QM9K, QM7K, QM8K, QM6K, and X11K models. Users must be 18 years or older and have their language set to English (US) to access these specific creation tools.
Previously, Gemini’s integration with Google TV focused on conversational search and recommendations. The addition of Nano Banana and Veo represents a shift toward making the television a more interactive content creation hub. Google has been integrating Gemini across its ecosystem, with the AI assistant already available for various tasks on Google TV, such as finding shows and answering general queries.
Further details regarding broader availability to other Google TV devices and regions are expected in the coming months. Users with compatible TCL devices should anticipate the update soon.
