Samsung has commenced the rollout of its final One UI 8.5 update to Galaxy S25 users across the United States. This software release follows an initial deployment in Samsung’s home market of South Korea.
The update brings Samsung’s latest custom Android interface to its flagship smartphone series, introducing various enhancements and new features. This marks a significant software upgrade for eligible devices.

Reports confirmed the US launch, with Android Authority citing a screenshot shared on X (formerly Twitter) that showed the update’s availability for a Galaxy S25 device. The One UI 8.5 update is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S25 lineup in the US, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
One UI is Samsung’s proprietary user interface built on top of the Android operating system, known for its extensive customization options and integration with Samsung’s ecosystem. This update integrates features previously seen on the Galaxy S26, such as Agentic AI, an upgraded Bixby assistant powered by Perplexity, and enhanced Quick Share with Apple AirDrop compatibility.
Furthermore, the update includes new visual flourishes, a redesigned Quick Settings panel, and AI-powered call screening. The download size for the update is approximately 4.4GB for users transitioning from One UI 8.0 and also includes the April security patch.
Meanwhile, the broader availability of One UI 8.5 for other Samsung Galaxy devices and international markets is expected soon. Samsung’s official list for the first phase of rollout includes the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and 7, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and 7, and Galaxy Tab S10 and S11 series. Users can check for the update via their device’s settings.
