Epic Games has launched Fortnite Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas, adding new competitive rewards for players in the recent v40.40 update. These new gliders offer a way for dedicated players to showcase their in-game achievements and skill mastery.
Unlike the standard Victory Umbrella, which is awarded for a single win, Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas signify consistent success in competitive play. The introduction of these exclusive cosmetics raises the stakes for players aiming for high-tier recognition within the game.

Players can acquire Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas by earning “Rivalry Wins” during the ongoing Fortnite Showdown event.
Rivalries are initiated by either selecting the “Start Rivalry” option at a Rivalry Screen, marked by a Sword Icon on the map, or by another player targeting you as their rival.
A Rivalry Win is secured by directly defeating your rival or by collecting a dropped Rivalry Contract if your rival is eliminated by another player.
There are three distinct Rivalry Mastery Umbrellas, each tied to a specific number of Rivalry Wins:
- Rivalry Master: Awarded for achieving 160 Rivalry Wins.
- Rivalry Grandmaster: Unlocked after accumulating 500 Rivalry Wins.
- Rivalry GOAT: The highest tier, requiring 1,000 Rivalry Wins.
Players have until the end of the current season, which concludes on Friday, June 5, to unlock these Mastery Umbrellas. After this date, the gliders will no longer be available.
The v40.40 update, detailed on the Epic Games Fortnite Communities page, also brought an Overwatch collaboration, introducing new map locations and character-themed items. Additionally, the update included significant changes to the Zero Build mode and general bug fixes.
