Google’s upcoming Pixel 11 smartphone is anticipated to launch in August with significant upgrades, despite recent leaks suggesting a potential downgrade in RAM.
This expectation comes as the rumor mill for the Pixel 11 intensifies, with industry observers closely monitoring Google’s next flagship device for advancements in Android technology and hardware integration.

Key Details Emerge on Pixel 11
Tech Advisor, a technology publication, reported expectations for a “huge upgrade” for the Pixel 11. The publication noted its long-standing coverage of Pixel releases and Android OS updates. Early speculation has focused on memory configurations, with some rumors pointing to less RAM than previous models. However, Tech Advisor’s assessment indicates a more substantial overall improvement.
Other reports corroborate an August 2026 launch for the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, and Pixel 11 Pro XL, continuing a trend from previous Pixel generations. This timing allows Google to position its devices ahead of Apple’s typical September iPhone releases.
The Pixel 11 is expected to feature Google’s new Tensor G6 chip, built on a 2nm process, which could enhance CPU performance significantly. Additionally, the device may include a new MediaTek M90 modem for improved network speeds and a new custom Image Signal Processor (ISP). Display improvements are also anticipated, with the Pixel 11 potentially offering increased brightness levels.
Design and Features
While major design overhauls are not expected for the Pixel 11, minor tweaks such as thinner bezels and an all-black camera bar are rumored. A new feature called “Pixel Glow” is also anticipated, which could use LEDs on the camera bar to provide notification alerts when the phone is face down.
Camera hardware is also expected to see upgrades across the Pixel 11 series, with new 50-megapixel sensors rumored for the standard Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold models. The Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL models are also expected to gain new main and telephoto sensors.
Context in the Smartphone Market
The Pixel series is central to Google’s hardware strategy, often showcasing new Android features and computational photography capabilities. The Google Pixel line competes with other major Android manufacturers and Apple’s iPhones, making each release a significant event for the Android ecosystem. Google’s focus remains on AI integration, efficiency, and camera performance rather than solely raw processing power.
Pricing details for the Pixel 11 remain unconfirmed, but some analysts hope it will maintain a similar starting price to its predecessor, around $799.
