Fortnite is adding the Lady Liberty skin from The Purge: Election Year on October 17, 2026, as part of Fortnitemares. Players can win it free in a cup or buy it in the Item Shop.
Key points
- The Lady Liberty Purge skin is scheduled to reach Fortnite on October 17, 2026, as part of Fortnitemares.
- Players can earn the skin free by ranking high in the Lady Liberty Cup, a Solos event.
- The Item Shop price is expected to be 1,500 V-Bucks, with a Purgle Bundle expected at 2,500.
- Epic Games has not published an official page confirming the cup rules, rank cutoffs or shop date.
Fortnitemares 2026 began October 1 with the v42.30 update. Lady Liberty is the Purge character shown in the event’s key art, which also lists collaborations with FNaF, Freddy Krueger, Slender Man, Black Clover and Beetlejuice. The in-game description calls her “A truly patriotic Purge participant.”
How to win the skin in the Lady Liberty Cup
The free route runs through the Lady Liberty Cup, scheduled for October 17. It is played in Battle Royale and Zero Build, in the Solos format. Reports point to the Compete tab as the entry point.
Placement depends on region, and players must rank high enough to earn the skin. The cup works like the upcoming Champion FNCS Teal Knight Cup. The rank cutoffs for each region were not available in the material reviewed, and match times and duration have not been confirmed.
Players who rank high enough also get a Purge Drone Back Bling. Those who score at least 8 points get the Purge Mask Emote. These reward details come from a single report and have no independent confirmation.
The skin is free only for players who place high enough. Everyone else has to pay for it.
Buying Lady Liberty in the Item Shop
The Purge collaboration is due in the Item Shop on October 17. Players should look for a section titled “The Purge: Election Year.” The steps are:
- Open Fortnite and go to the Item Shop tab.
- Find the “The Purge: Election Year” section.
- Select the Lady Liberty Purge Outfit or the Purgle Bundle.
- Press and hold the Purchase button.
- Find the skin in your locker.
Prices are expectations, not confirmed figures. The outfit is expected to cost 1,500 V-Bucks, the game’s in-game currency. The Purgle Bundle is expected at 2,500 V-Bucks. Epic has not published the final price or the bundle contents.
The items are expected to stay in the shop for at least a week before rotating out later in October. Players short on V-Bucks can buy a V-Bucks Card to top up.
What is still unconfirmed
No official Epic Games page was found confirming the cup rules or the shop date. Earlier reports listed the release as to be announced, with a window of October 8 to 15, before later coverage settled on October 17. The exact time the item appears in the shop is also unknown.
One report says the skin has green neon face paint and a sword, which it expects to double as her pickaxe. That is an inference, not a confirmed detail. It is also unclear whether the cup is the only free route or whether the shop remains open to all players afterward, though reports point to the shop as the other option.
Context for Fortnitemares
The Purge teasers date back to August. A Halloween Horror Nights 2026 show also used a Lady Liberty-inspired character. The franchise had largely left the spotlight since The Forever Purge in 2021.
Epic has offered free cosmetics through cups before, including for J Balvin, Wonder Woman and Gamora. The studio’s latest Fortnite shop addition was a bundle for rapper Yeat on October 15. Other recent collaborations have drawn criticism, as with the Street Fighter movie skins that players pushed back against.
Players working through Chapter 7 Season 4 collections can also see a loot path for Sprites to collect Sprite Dust.
The Hazbin Hotel skins, including Alastor, are already in the Item Shop.
