Respawn Entertainment and Toho are bringing Godzilla to Apex Legends starting November 10, with an event that adds 10 kaiju-inspired Legend skins and turns the Storm Point map into a monster attack site through December 1.
Key points
- The Apex Legends Godzilla event runs from November 10 to December 1 in Wildcard Mode.
- The event adds 10 Legend skins and 9 weapon skins inspired by Godzilla franchise monsters.
- A Universal Melee called the Dorsal Dagger can drop from Godzilla Event Packs.
- Storm Point gets a Wildcard takeover where Godzilla attacks the map and drops a custom tracking Devotion.
- The event is available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC starting November 10.
The crossover lands days after Apex Legends launched its new Cipher season, giving the battle royale a second major content push in the same week. For players, it means a limited run of collectible cosmetics tied to one of film’s most recognizable monster franchises, plus a new combat mechanic built around dodging a giant beast’s attacks.
Ten Legend Skins Draw From Decades of Godzilla Films
According to the event details, the collection includes skins modeled on specific eras of the kaiju’s on-screen history. Bloodhound gets a Godzilla 2026 Iconic skin, Wraith is reskinned as Godzilla 2016, and Pathfinder becomes Mechagodzilla 1974. Valkyrie’s Iconic skin draws from Mothra’s 2003 film appearance, while Mad Maggie takes on Destoroyah.

Nine Legendary weapon skins round out the cosmetic lineup, covering the Devotion, Hemlok, Rampage, CAR, Havoc, Longbow, Wingman, Prowler and Sentinel. A new Universal Melee called the Dorsal Dagger, shaped after Godzilla’s dorsal fins, can drop from Godzilla Event Packs. Unlocking it also grants a matching Death Box cosmetic, a format the game used previously during its Street Fighter crossover.
Godzilla Rampages Through Storm Point in Wildcard Mode
The event’s centerpiece is a takeover of the Wildcard game mode on Storm Point, where Godzilla appears above the map and marks specific areas for destruction. Players will see the aftermath scattered across the terrain: damaged buildings, burnt trees and fallen signs mark the spots the kaiju has already hit.
When Godzilla targets a new area, a countdown starts before it fires its Heat Ray. A Care Package then drops inside the blast zone, containing a custom Devotion light machine gun that fires a tracking heat ray and follows enemies once it connects. Players have to weigh the risk of grabbing the weapon against staying clear of the strike.
Event Pass and Platform Availability
Alongside the direct cosmetic drops, an Event Pass offers Godzilla-themed rewards across Free and Premium tracks, including badges, crafting metals, weapon trackers and additional skins. The official Apex Legends blog post confirms the event runs on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam.
Toho’s involvement was first signaled with a teaser shown during the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs Match Point Finals, which Team Liquid won. The Godzilla.com announcement frames the tie-in as timed to the kaiju’s continued box-office presence, though Apex Legends’ event window runs independently from any specific film release.
How the Format Compares to Past Takeovers
The Wildcard structure mirrors the approach Respawn used for its Blood Pact Halloween event, where a roaming threat altered the map and spawned unique loot tied to the collaboration. That format gives the Godzilla event a familiar shape for returning players, even as the cosmetics and the Devotion’s heat-ray effect are new. Full pricing for the skins, event packs and the Event Pass had not been announced as of the event’s reveal.
