Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5 Adds Mods, FOV Slider

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 2.5 update ships October 22 with cross-platform mods, an FOV slider and a new dual-wield pistol playstyle.

CD Projekt Red is releasing the Edgerunners 2 Update, version 2.5, for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22, 2026, adding cross-platform mod support for consoles, an FOV slider and a new dual-wield pistol playstyle.

Key points

  • The Edgerunners 2 Update (version 2.5) for Cyberpunk 2077 releases October 22, 2026.
  • Cross-platform mod support arrives via mod.io on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
  • Consoles gain a long-requested FOV slider, while PC players get DLSS 4.5 support.
  • A new Double Trouble perk lets players dual-wield Power Pistols and Power Revolvers.
  • The update adds the Clampdown questline, Night City Tours, two new radio stations and five Glamdocs.

The patch ties into season 2 of the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which premiered October 20. Edgerunners helped drive a sales resurgence for the six-year-old game when the first season landed in 2022, and this update is built to capitalize on that moment again with new quests, cosmetics and systems players have asked for since launch.

Mod Support Comes to Consoles Through mod.io

The headline feature is cross-platform mod support, powered by mod.io, which lets players browse and install community-made mods directly from the in-game menu. According to the official patch notes, the feature is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, despite earlier leak reports suggesting Switch 2 would be left out. Saves loaded from mods carry a dedicated icon in the Load Game menu, and players cannot earn achievements or trophies on console while using a modded save.

The approach mirrors what CD Projekt Red already shipped with The Witcher 3 Remastered, which uses the same mod.io backend for console modding. Bringing that system to Cyberpunk 2077 gives PlayStation, Xbox and Switch 2 owners access to a modding scene that had previously been limited to PC.

FOV Slider and Performance Upgrades Arrive on All Platforms

Console players also get a field-of-view (FOV) slider, a feature that lets players widen or narrow their in-game camera view and one of the most requested additions since launch. On PC, the update adds support for Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and a second-generation transformer model for upscaling.

AMD’s FSR options were also revised. FSR 3 upscaling has been removed, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain available. Mac players gain support for MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising, and the update adds glasses-free 3D support for compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors along with a Motion Comfort setting to balance depth and viewing comfort. CD Projekt Red says the update includes performance optimizations for ray tracing and specifically for PlayStation 5 Pro.

Double Trouble Perk Unlocks Dual-Wielding

On the gameplay side, a new Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree, backed by four auxiliary perks, lets players dual-wield handguns for the first time. The feature works only with Power category Pistols and Power Revolvers; Tech or Smart handguns, assault rifles, shotguns and melee weapons are not supported under the rules CD Projekt Red announced. Photo Mode gets new poses built specifically to show off the dual-wield stance, alongside frames pulled from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game.

New Quests, Radio Stations and Cosmetics

  • Clampdown: a prequel questline tying into Edgerunners 2, sending V on a job with King’s crew, including King, Meshuga, Miguel and Emily
  • Welcome to Paradise: a side quest narrated by Richard Night that unlocks after completing The Heist and reaching level 15 Street Cred
  • Night City Tours: new hidden locations to discover across the city
  • Two new radio stations playing a combined 16 tracks from both Edgerunners seasons
  • Five new Glamdocs who let players customize the look of arm and hand cyberware
  • 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot Cards, with the Tarot menu now split into Major and Minor Arcana sections
  • A five-piece outfit set based on King, plus four other clothing collections sold across Night City districts

CD Projekt Red developed version 2.5 with help from co-development partner Virtuos. The patch also fixes a Nintendo Switch 2 save error, a stuck Delamain cab bug that blocked quest progress, and an issue where PlayStation 5 HDR settings had no effect.

Rollout Timing Across Platforms

The 2.5 update goes live October 22 on PC, Mac via Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. CD Projekt Red says Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac App Store versions will follow in the days afterward, without giving an exact date.
