The notes arrive a day before Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 reaches players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Switch 2, following a week of campaign early access for preorder customers that began October 16. The game skips PS4 and Xbox One entirely and is not available through Game Pass at launch, according to Xbox’s product listing.
Day One Multiplayer Lineup
Modern Warfare 4 ships with 20 multiplayer maps split across three formats: 12 core 6v6 maps, three Ground War maps built for 32v32 battles, and four Gunfight maps for 2v2 matches. A new map called Kill Block supports 3v3 and 10v10 Gunfight at launch, with 6v6 modes and additional layouts promised in a future update.
The core 6v6 rotation includes Cachette, Coal, Lithium, Lotus, Mumbai, Munition, Nautical, Reactor U92, Rooftops, Sentry, Silkworm and Transit 213. Ground War adds Imjin Farmland, Wolves Stadium and Forest, while Gunfight brings back Cafe, Library, NYC and Smuggler. Infinity Ward confirmed 12 multiplayer modes at launch, including Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search & Destroy and a new Hardcore option, with Infected and a new mode called Possession scheduled to join as part of a Halloween update next week.
