After realme, OPPO is now shifting its focus to smartphones under its new “Reno” brand. To kick-off, OPPO has launched a total of three smartphone models under the Reno-brand just last month. The OPPO Reno, Reno 10X Zoom, and Reno 5G were all high performing devices from the company. Hence, are all a little bit expensive. But knowing OPPO, a cheaper alternative will surely be in works.
Now, insert OPPO Reno Z. The cheapest of the existing Reno devices. China Telecom has just listed the handset on the official website. Going along with this information were leak photos listed on Slashleaks. But of course, nothing is far more exciting than the specifications and expected pricing.
According to some information, the Reno Z will feature a huge 6.4-inch FHD+ display with the now popular “waterdrop notch.” Located on the notch is a massive 32MP selfie camera. There were also be a fingerprint sensor despite the renders have not shown any.
Flipping the phone back shows a dual-camera setup. The main sensor will be 48MP, while the secondary camera will be a 5MP sensor for depth sensing. Although no mention of what aperture the main sensor will have.
Powering the OPPO Reno Z is the new Mediatek Helio P90 SoC. Giving the Helio P90 an edge from the Helio P60 and P70 is its new GPU. The Helio P90 comes with IMG 9XM-HP8 GPU by Imagination Technologies. This new graphics will give the P90 a 50 percent graphical boost than its previous generation SoCs. The Helio P90 on the Reno Z is then paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Moreover, the OPPO Reno Z will also pack with a decent 3,950mAh of battery juice. And like any newer upper midrange OPPO smartphones, this phone also comes with VOOC 3.0 support for 20W fast charging.
The OPPO Reno Z will be available in Star Purple, Extreme Night Black, Coral Orange, and Bead White. Pricing is expected to start at CNY 2,599 ($377/€335).
