Vivo, just like any other Chinese smartphone, manufacturers, has been teasing its IQOO Pro smartphone for a while now. The phone was recently spotted on getting a TENAA certification in China and is scheduled for August 22 launch.
A rumor circulating in China says that the IQOO Pro might be the cheapest 5G smartphone yet when it launches. The post was then re-blogged on Weibo by IQOO VP, Feng Yufei, giving more credence to the rumor. While the exact price wasn’t mentioned, to t is still a worthy hint for the fans of the brand.
While the 5G technology hasn’t taken off yet, smartphone makers have begun implementing the technology on their smartphones to make it future proof (and earn more extra cash). But there are still many challenges with 5G that only a few modern cities currently implements it. Even so, the 5G only covers a small area of these 5G-enabled cities, as it currently doesn’t support a wider spectrum.
As for the IQOO Pro, note that the rumor originated in China, the company’s home country, and its potential market. With that said, the pricing for the global variant still remains to be seen.
The vivo IQOO Pro will feature a large 6.41-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. Inside, the phone will utilize the new Snapdragon 855+ SoC, which is meant to improve the performance of the regular chip. It will also have 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage.
As for the cameras, the vivo IQOO Pro will sport a triple camera setup. It is still unknown which type of lenses they will be using, but numbers have already been known.
The rear includes a 48MP primary camera, teaming with 12MP and 13MP sensors, while the selfie snapper will be 12MP. Keeping the lights on is a 4,410mAh battery, with support for 44W fast charging. Finally, the vivo IQOO will ship with Funtouch 9, on top of Android 9 Pie.
