What’s new in Indian Train Simulator (2026 update)
Highbrow released the 2026 versions in April 2026: 2026.0.4 on April 3, then 2026.0.6, 2026.1 and finally 2026.1.3 on April 24, which is still the current version on Google Play. Here’s what changed:
- Android 10 or newer. Since version 2026.0.6, the game no longer installs on Android 9 and older. Version 2026.0.4 was the last for Android 7.1 to 9.
- Blueprint fixes. The updates fix bugs in buying blueprints, which is how you unlock new engines.
- Fewer crashes and better performance, plus a fix for a path issue.
The bigger shift came before that. Since late 2025, Highbrow describes the game around Career mode, with missions, permits and timed runs. The Play Store listing also highlights Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains, a Lite graphics preset with dynamic resolution for smoother play on cheaper phones, and free starter locomotives.
Coming next, according to Highbrow: an offline mode for core routes, and new routes including Konkan Railway, Delhi–Lucknow and Mumbai–Goa. On iPhone, the App Store version is still 2023.8.0 from December 2023.
How to earn money and gems fast in Indian Train Simulator
The game has two currencies: Cash, the everyday money, and gems, the premium currency. The store sells both, Cash in packs of 5k to 20k and gems in packs of 40 to 500, but you can earn both by driving. These are the fastest ways, all taken from the game itself:
- Run Career trips on time. The game says it plainly: being time-bound pays off. Follow the schedule to collect the most trip points, keep to the speed limits and signals it warns you about, and save the emergency brake for real emergencies, because using it costs you a penalty.
- Look for double-reward weeks. Career mode runs in themed weeks, and some, like round-trip duty weeks, give you a chance to double the rewards.
- Play Gem Challenges. This special challenge mode pays gems for completing its levels.
- Claim the Ad Pack. Every 3 trips, you can watch a short ad for a free reward.
- Spin the Lucky Spinner. It awards Cash, gems or a jackpot that repairs all your engines.
- Climb the leaderboard and finish achievements. Chapter rewards depend on your leaderboard rank, with silver and gold tiers, and achievements pay out too.
Spend gems carefully. When a trip offers Start Trip with Ads or Start Trip with Gems, watch the ad and keep your gems for things only gems can buy.
How to unlock all trains
New engines unlock with blueprints. In the game’s words: “To unlock new engines, collect the required blueprints by completing yard trips.” Once you have enough, the engine shows Ready to unlock. Coaches, such as the Vistadome, have blueprints too.
You start with free locomotives, and the shop sells bundles if you’d rather pay: engine bundles, coach bundles and an Ultimate Bundle. One offer unlocks 23 engines and 20 coaches at once.
Indian Train Simulator features
Indian Train Simulator puts you in the cab of real Indian Railways locomotives: the WAP-4, WAP-7, WDP-4D, WDG-4 and the WDM series, plus Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains. Coaches include ICF, LHB, Humsafar, Tejas and Rajdhani rakes, and freight wagons.

Which version runs best on older phones?
The newest version your phone can install runs best, because it has the latest performance fixes and the Lite graphics preset. The minimum Android version has gone up over the years, though:
