Kojima Productions unveiled a new photorealistic poster for Hideo Kojima’s horror game OD: Knock, featuring Sophia Lillis’s character, at the studio’s 10th-anniversary exhibition on October 30, 2026.
Key points
- Kojima Productions revealed a new OD: Knock poster of Sophia Lillis's character on Oct. 30, 2026.
- The poster appeared at the studio's Beyond the Strand 10th-anniversary exhibition in Tokyo.
- The image credits MetaHuman technology, Unreal Engine, and Xbox, and carries the tagline "For All Players and Screamers."
- Hunter Schafer and the late Udo Kier are also confirmed as part of the OD: Knock cast.
- No release window has been announced, though the game is expected before Kojima's PHYSINT.
The reveal gives fans their clearest look yet at the long-delayed project, which has drawn attention for its use of photorealistic character technology and its cast of recognizable actors. With no release date still on the calendar, each new asset has become a way for the studio to signal progress on a game that stalled after the death of one of its stars.
What the New Poster Shows
The artwork depicts Lillis’s character looking up at what appears to be a red broomstick, rendered with enough detail that fans online have described the image as closer to a photograph than a game screenshot. The poster credits Xbox, Epic Games’ MetaHuman system, and Unreal Engine, the tools behind the lifelike rendering. Lillis’s character wears an outfit resembling a mental asylum uniform, continuing the unsettling visual tone established in earlier OD trailers featuring Sophia Lillis.
The poster also carries the tagline “For All Players and Screamers” and lists Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier alongside Lillis as part of the main cast. Fans have pointed to the red broom in the image as a possible link to Schafer’s character, a tall, horned figure dressed entirely in red who was first shown in an Entertainment Weekly feature earlier this year.
A Red Door and a 10th-Anniversary Showcase
The poster debuted as part of “Beyond the Strand,” Kojima Productions’ official exhibition marking its 10th anniversary. The event space also displays a physical replica of the red door seen in OD: Knock’s teaser trailer, giving attendees a tangible piece of the game’s unsettling imagery.
The exhibition is not limited to OD. It also offers a behind-the-scenes look at how the studio built both Death Stranding games, and includes new details and a teaser video for Death Stranding Isolations, an animated series set to stream on Disney+ in 2027.
Production Delays Following Udo Kier’s Death
OD: Knock’s development has not been without setbacks. Udo Kier, the German actor known for roles in Flesh for Frankenstein and Melancholia, died on November 23, 2025, at age 81. Kojima Productions had confirmed Kier was attached to the project, and his death reportedly contributed to delays in production.
Despite that setback, Kojima said at the Tokyo Games Show 2026 that development is “progressing smoothly.” Reports indicate filming for the game resumed in June 2026, suggesting the project is moving again after the pause.
What Comes Next for Kojima’s Horror Project
OD is being developed in partnership with Xbox Game Studios and filmmaker Jordan Peele, a collaboration first announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2022. The game was unveiled at The Game Awards 2023, with a second teaser, subtitled “Knock,” following at Kojima Productions’ first 10th-anniversary event in September 2025.
That same September 2025 event introduced Kojima’s other upcoming title, PHYSINT, an action-espionage game featuring cast members Charlee Fraser, Ma Dong-Seok, and Minami Hamabe. While no release window has been set for OD: Knock, the studio has indicated it will arrive before PHYSINT launches on Xbox.
