Concrete blocks were first added to Minecraft in 2017 but lacked slab and stair variants, limiting architectural possibilities and often requiring players to use full blocks or substitute materials. The new concrete slabs and stairs, available in Java Edition Snapshot 7 and Bedrock Preview, address this limitation.
Consequently, players can now create cleaner and more intricate designs for various projects. This includes structures such as sleek skyscrapers, expansive city streets, detailed stadiums, and custom furniture. The new blocks match the existing concrete color palette, ensuring aesthetic consistency.
Players can craft these new concrete block types using standard in-game recipes, starting with hardened concrete blocks. Additionally, the 26.3 update also brings other features, including new Explorer Maps hidden within Abandoned Camps and adjustments to cushions.
This update responds to a community request that has persisted for nearly a decade. Mojang Studios, the developer, regularly releases updates to Minecraft, enhancing both gameplay and building mechanics.
