An official promotional render of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro was posted on Weibo yesterday. The photo gave us a quick look of the new camera design at back of the highly-anticipated flagship Huawei device. However, unlike the recent leaks, the render shows four cameras instead of three. This makes us more excited about the upcoming device. Huawei and Leica usually nail this department regardless.
The mystery additional camera is still unknown. However, we can see that Huawei omitted the ToF camera below the LED flash module. Though we can see a little white dot below. Not a characteristic of a ToF module. This sensor could be, only our assumption, just be a re-placement of the ToF camera, or perhaps another ToF camera of different variety.
However, previous leaks suggests that the main camera will be a large 1/1.55″ sensor, while the ultra-wide lens will benefit from a 1/1.7″ custom sensor from Huawei. The third camera, as a staple of the recent Huawei flagships, will be have a periscope lens for that ultra zoom functionality.
The Mate 30 Pro will retain the impressive 40W wired charging, but wireless charging will get an upgrade to 27W (from 15W). This makes the Mate 30 Pro the first to use such high-speed wireless charging technology.
Huawei is set to launch the new Mate 30 series on September 6. Stay tuned!
