Epic Reveals Fortnite Pirate Shop Token Drop Rate

Epic Games confirms the Pirate Shop Token drops at a 1 in 137,500 rate per chest, with boosted odds during Treasure Hours events.

Epic Games has confirmed the drop rate for the Pirate Shop Token in Fortnite stands at 1 in 137,500 per chest, ending days of player speculation over one of the season’s rarest pulls. The confirmation came through the official Fortnite Status account on X.

Key points

  • Epic Games confirmed the Pirate Shop Token drops at a rate of 1 in 137,500 per chest.
  • The rarest reward is actually the weekly gold outfit, at 1 in 1,562,500.
  • Treasure Hours boost the Pirate Shop Access rate by 1.5x, and weekly gold outfit by 7.5x.
  • A Treasure Hour on November 7 boosted Pirate Shop Access odds to 2x and the gold outfit to 7.5x.
  • Other than Gizmos, players cannot pull the same treasure item twice from chests.

The reveal matters because players had spent days opening chests across Crossbones Isle hunting for the token, which unlocks free Item Shop access for 14 days in 2026 and another 14 days in 2027. Community estimates before Epic’s statement had pegged the odds at roughly 1 in 700,000, a figure that was never officially confirmed and is now replaced by the real number.

How the Treasure Hunt Chest Odds Break Down

Epic laid out the full list of drop rates for every item found in a Treasure Hunt Chest this mini-season. According to the company, these numbers have stayed constant since the season launched and only shift during special Treasure Hours windows. • 1:1,562,500 โ€“ Weekly Gold Outfit
  • 1:137,500 โ€“ Pirate Shop Access
  • 1:7,813 โ€“ Weekly Vehicle & Decal
  • 1:568 โ€“ Weekly Pickaxe or Backbling
  • 1:391 โ€“ Weekly Jam Track
  • 1:272 โ€“ Weekly Loading Screen
  • 1:127 โ€“ Gizmo (any)

The weekly gold outfit, not the Pirate Shop Token, turns out to be the hardest pull in the entire pool. Epic also noted that outside of Gizmos, a player cannot receive the same treasure item twice, which rules out duplicate pulls for anything else on the list.
