Fortnite Treasure Hunt Chest Locations and Rewards Guide

A rundown of Treasure Hunt chest spots on Fortnite's Crossbones Isle, including buried and rare chests and the latest reward pool.

Epic Games has packed Crossbones Isle, the new map for Fortnite’s Treasure Hunters mini season, with a revamped container type called Treasure Hunt Chests. Players can find them scattered across all 12 named points of interest on the island, each offering a shot at rare rewards tied to the season’s pirate theme.

Key points

  • Fortnite's Treasure Hunters mini season added a new container called Treasure Hunt Chests scattered across Crossbones Isle.
  • Rubber Resort, Lantern Landing and Loguetown hold some of the highest chest counts among the map's 12 named locations.
  • Buried Treasure Hunt Chests cluster most heavily around The Chest POI, with 34 buried chests reported there.
  • Rare Treasure Hunt Chests appear most often at the S.S. Rocky and Rubber Resort locations.
  • The Pirate Shop Access token drops from these chests at a reported rate of 1 in 700,000.

The mini season, officially Chapter 7: Mini Season with the Treasure Hunters tagline, started November 1 and runs through December 5, when Epic plans a live event called The Treasure. The new 80-player map borrows locations from One Piece alongside a battleship tied to A$AP Rocky, and the chest system is central to how players chase loot and progress through seasonal quests.

Where to Find Treasure Hunt Chests on the Map

Treasure Hunt Chests are spread across Crossbones Isle, with some locations holding far more than others. Rubber Resort and Lantern Landing stand out as the densest spots, while smaller POIs like the S.S. Rocky carry far fewer.

  • Rubber Resort: 47 chests
  • Loot Lagoon: 26 chests
  • Lil Uzi’s Stronghold: 33 chests
  • Lantern Landing: 45 chests
  • Arlong Park: 35 chests
  • Cursed Cavern: 28 chests
  • Loguetown: 41 chests
  • Windmill Village: 29 chests
  • Busy Bay: 29 chests
  • Plunder Port: 34 chests
  • The S.S. Rocky: 8 chests
  • The Chest: 10 chests

Unlike earlier chest systems, these containers recharge over time. Players who loot a chest can return to the same spot later in a match and open it again, which makes high-density areas like Lantern Landing, Rubber Resort or Loguetown worth revisiting for weapons from the season’s loot pool.

Buried and Rare Chest Locations

Beyond the standard chests, the island hides a number of buried containers and a separate category of rare chests. The Chest POI, the former One Piece pirate chest site from the prior season, holds by far the most buried chests on the island.

  • Rubber Resort: 2 buried chests
  • Loot Lagoon: 1 buried chest
  • Arlong Park: 2 buried chests
  • Cursed Cavern: 4 buried chests
  • Windmill Village: 1 buried chest
  • Busy Bay: 1 buried chest
  • Plunder Port: 2 buried chests
  • The S.S. Rocky: 2 buried chests
  • The Chest: 34 buried chests
  • Road between Loguetown and Windmill Village: 2 buried chests
  • Top Right island: 11 buried chests

Rare Treasure Hunt Chests follow a different spread. Rubber Resort again leads with six, followed by Fortune’s Fort with five, while several POIs, including Arlong Park and Plunder Port, report none at all.

  • Rubber Resort: 6 rare chests
  • Fortune’s Fort: 5 rare chests
  • Loot Lagoon: 4 rare chests
  • Lantern Landing: 4 rare chests
  • Loguetown: 4 rare chests
  • Windmill Village: 1 rare chest
  • Busy Bay: 4 rare chests
  • The S.S. Rocky: 4 rare chests
  • Purple area between Lantern Landing and Cursed Cavern: 4 rare chests
