Just a week before Realme unveils the Realme 3, features and specifications of the handset has already been revealed online. Unlike the Realme 2, the Realme 3 will be a big step up from the Realme 1. Apparently, the handset will feature a way better chip and features than its predecessors.
Realme CEO, Madhav Sheth, already revealed on Twitter that the handset will be using the new Helio P70 chip. Although we’ve seen this before being used on the selfie-centric Realme U1, the Helio P70 is still a way more powerful chip than the Snapdragon 450 on the Realme 2. It also features many improvements from the Helio P60, making the Realme 3 a very worthy upgrade for the Realme 1 users.
Another feature the company revealed on its official social media account is the “Nightscape Mode“. The feature was first seen on OnePlus devices, but it is now being shared to Realme (which is OnePlus’ sister company). It’s an image stacking technique which creates a brighter, but lesser noise lowlight images. Yesterday, another feature called “Choma Boost” was also revealed. In fact, sample photos taken with Realme 3 were stacked up against its competitions, the Samsung Galaxy M20 and Redmi Note 7. Click here to read GSMArena’s article with sample photos.
Now, the company also revealed that Realme 3 will also feature VOOC fast charging. Users of the existing Realme smartphones continue to express disappointment with the company’s choice to disable fast charging despite a very capable chip on their smartphones. However, the company explained that, while the chip supports the technology, the other components inside the phone such as the battery can’t handle fast charging. The addition of the VOOC fast charging on the Realme 3 would be a game changer for the existing users.
Other details about the device includes a 6.3-inch LTPS IPS LCD panel with dewdrop notch similar to the Realme 2 Pro. There will also be 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage for the base model, and dual rear-facing camera (16MP+5MP), and at least 4000mAh of battery. Take all these with a pinch of salt though.
Realme is expected to unveil the Realme 3 on 4th of March in India, 12:30PM local time. Price is expected to be around INR10,000 (or $140).
