A new ultra-thin power bank, the BMX SolidSafe Air 5K, is designed to address iPhone battery limitations, particularly for devices like the iPhone 17. The 5,000mAh portable charger provides significant power while maintaining a slim profile, according to Tech Advisor.
The device’s compact design aims to offer a practical solution for users experiencing battery drain from intensive usage and high temperatures. Its reduced bulk provides a more integrated charging experience compared to traditional power banks.

The BMX SolidSafe Air 5K measures 0.27 inches (6.8mm) thick and features a titanium construction. It offers both 15W wireless MagSafe charging and 20W USB-C output. In testing, the power bank charged an iPhone 17 to 90% capacity, delivering nearly a full charge.
However, the BMX SolidSafe Air 5K is not the only option for Apple iPhone users. Competitors like the Anker 622 Magnetic Battery (MagGo) are approximately 0.5 inches (12.8mm) thick, providing a point of comparison for portability. The Anker model typically offers 7.5W wireless output.
BMX markets the SolidSafe Air 5K as the world’s thinnest Qi2 SolidSafe battery. While a thinner 6mm silicon-carbon power bank from Xiaomi exists, it is not yet widely available. Other brands such as Ugreen also offer a range of portable charging solutions.
