During the realme 5 and realme 5 Pro launch event in India earlier this month, realme announced that a new series of realme smartphone is coming next month.
While the company didn’t reveal anything more than the possible camera configuration, realme did mentioned on a slide that it will be called realme XT. However, we are not entirely sure if this series will precede the realme X series of smartphones revealed months ago.
Now, just days ahead of the official launching on 4th of September, photos and full specifications of the realme XT starts circulating online. This after the company’s exclusive media demonstration in China.
The realme XT is said to pack a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, an upgrade from the regular AMOLED panel on the realme X smartphone. Also, the realme XT will not have a full-view display (yes, no pop-up camera) similar to the realme X line-up. Instead, the phone will follow the same waterdrop notch display from the previous realme devices. Although it’s no big deal.
Inside, the new Snapdragon 712 SoC will be handling the operation, with either 4GB, 6GB, and/or 8GB of RAM. Storage configuration is up to 128GB (UFS 2.1), with the 4GB and 6GB models maxing out to 64GB of expandable storage.
For the imaging, the realme XT will follow the new quad-camera trend of the realme smartphones. Everything works pretty similar to the realme 5, and realme 5 Pro. Except for one.
The realme XT will have the same 8MP ultra-wide angle camera from the realme 5, and realme 5 Pro. As well as the 2MP macro (which we rather not have), and 2MP depth sensor. However, unlike the two less expensive devices, the realme XT will be the first smartphone to use Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 camera sensor.
Looking at the samples, looks like realme did a great job with the ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. Colors looks bright and vibrant, and the dynamic range looks decent. Although we can see some noise is the shadows. Overall, these photos looks promising. It’s social media ready, which what most people are up to these days.
Now, keeping all the lights on is a 4000mAh of battery, with support for VOOC 3.0. No mention of wireless charging. Although we hope there is, as the back is made out of hardened glass.
P.S: Yes, the phone did includes a 3.5mm headphone jack.
