Xbox is giving away a single custom console called the Series X-BITE, a working Xbox Series X built inside a five-foot alligator replica, the company announced November 3 on Xbox Wire and its social accounts.
Key points
- Xbox unveiled the Series X-BITE, a working Series X hidden inside a five-foot alligator replica, on November 3.
- The sweepstakes runs through November 10 at 11:59 p.m. PT and is open only to US residents 18 and older.
- Entrants must follow Xbox on X, Instagram or TikTok and repost the giveaway post with #XbiteSweepstakes.
- John Nolan Studio, known for creature work on The Witcher and Jurassic World Dominion, built the console.
- Xbox estimates the prize's value at $800 and says it will ship about eight weeks after the giveaway ends.
The giveaway lands two weeks before GTA 6 launches on November 19, and its swamp-and-gator theme echoes the game’s Florida-inspired setting of Leonida, even though Microsoft has not mentioned Rockstar’s title by name in its own materials.
How the Sweepstakes Works
The contest opened November 3 at 9 a.m. PT and closes November 10 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Entry is limited to legal residents of the 50 US states and Washington, D.C., who are at least 18 years old and have public social media accounts.
- Follow Xbox on X, Instagram or TikTok
- Repost the official giveaway post
- Include the hashtag #XbiteSweepstakes
- No purchase is necessary to enter
A winner will be selected and given 48 hours to claim the prize, according to the Xbox Wire announcement. Microsoft estimates the console’s value at $800 and says it will ship roughly eight weeks after the sweepstakes ends, meaning the winner could have the game finished long before it arrives.
What the Alligator Console Looks Like
The Series X-BITE measures more than five feet from snout to tail and houses a fully functional Series X inside its body. An illuminated Xbox Nexus logo glows on the side, giving a glimpse of the hardware inside, while the alligator’s eyes carry Xbox-green irises with Nexus-inspired pupils.
A custom Xbox Wireless Controller, styled with fake bite marks, rests between the alligator’s jaws. Xbox says the console works, but recommends treating it as a display piece rather than everyday hardware. The company also noted that no real alligators were used or harmed in making the piece, since it is a fabricated sculpture.
Who Built It
Xbox worked with John Nolan Studio, a creature-effects and animatronics house, to design and fabricate the console through 3D modeling, sculpting and hand finishing. The studio’s past credits include The Witcher, Jurassic World Dominion and HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series, according to Xbox.
