Root Galaxy Note 8 N950F on XXU3CRC1

This rooting tutorial is ONLY for Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F (Exynos Octa-core CPU). Please don’t try in the Qualcomm Snapdragon variant.

Official Firmware: First of all, make sure your Galaxy Note 8 should be in the XXU3CRC1 Android 8.0 Oreo firmware. If not, please update it first and then proceed to the tutorial below.

Galaxy Note 8 USB Driver

Make sure you have correctly installed Galaxy Note 8  USB Driver on your computer. If not, please download it from our USB Driver Section below and install it correctly. Otherwise, your computer will not be able to detect your device.

Backup your Android Device

Pre-requisites

  1. This guide is only for Galaxy Note 8 N950F. Please do not try with any other Galaxy variant.
  2. Make sure your phone has at least 80 – 85% charge. If not, please do charge it before starting the experiment.
  3. You need to enable USB Debugging mode to connect your Android phone to computer. (Settings > About Phone > Build number > Tap it 7 times to become developer; Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging).
  4. You must have TWRP Custom Recovery installed on your Galaxy Note 8 N950F.
