Android 9.0 Pie based One UI is now available for the Galaxy Note 8 Snapdragon variant. In this guide, you will be able to update your Galaxy Note 8 Snapdragon to the latest One UI Android 9.0 Pie beta firmware.

One UI is currently in beta stage and is available for few Samsung devices including Galaxy S8 / S8 Plus, S9 / S9 Plus, Note 9, and our friends at firmware.science managed to get a copy of a beta version for the Galaxy Note 8.

    One UI Galaxy Note 8

The current beta build of One UI for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835-based Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is in development mode. But you can easily install the beta version by sideloading the One UI OTA package via stock recovery on your phone. We have a detailed tutorial below along with the firmware download link; read ahead!

This One UI is utterly similar to the other updates already released for Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+, and Galaxy Note 9. It comes with a revamped design that mainly focuses on ease-of-use via one hand, a system-wide dark mode and probably some of the best gestures on Android that support Google Assistant. Check out some of the screenshot of One UI shared by Max Weinbach on the XDA developer forum:

One UI for Galaxy Note 8

The One UI is a redefined version of Samsung’s Experience 10, which primarily focus on the thing that matter the users. One UI is based on Android 9.0 Pie update, which features a vast UI overhaul with an emphasis on ease-of-use, especially in system-wide dark theme and single hand mode. The One UI beta program allows the user to try out the software before official roll out from Samsung.

Initially, Samsung started testing Android Pie on the Galaxy S9/S9+ and Note 9 via the official One UI Beta program. On the other hand, Note 8 users were quite disappointed to run Oreo in 2019. Thankfully, developers are able to capture a closed beta build of One UI for the Galaxy Note 8. The closed beta builds are available as an OTA package from firmware.science. With this on your hand, you will be able to update Galaxy Note 8 (Snapdragon) to One UI based on Android 9.0 Pie official beta firmware. We hope, the Exynos variant will receive the same very soon. We will be posting another article for it as soon as the OTA is available for the Exynos model.
