Though most of the user could not even get Android Oreo, Android P is here, and a glimpse has been given of it. Some of the latest features that were introduced with Oreo have undergone drastic improvements, and this ninth full version of the well known OS will also have the plethora of unique features.

NEW UPDATE: Android 9.0 Pie update: Install Project Treble [GSI] ROM right now!

In spite of all the positives that are promised by Android P, many are asking when it will be introduced. This question is difficult to answer for the timing of the actual update of Android P on their phones. But we can have an assumption based on our judgment about the expected time arrival of this latest OS on your Smartphone.

    Android P

We have made a list of all the popular devices of Android in OEM wise that is speculated to get the Android P update. We, however, say that this is not the final list and if any changes occur, then we will continuously update about the latest device whenever we know.

    Asus

All the devices of Asus that were released between 2017 to 2018 are speculated to get Android P update, even those with per installed Nougat. Our expectations are high for the Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 4 series, but the Zenfone 3 and the similar series of Zenfone 3s Max bundled up with the introductory Deluxe would not get the P update.

    BlackBerry

The best devices of BlackBerry have almost become non-existent over the past few years, and the manufacturer has not been in the news in these days. The Oreo updates itself was done slowly by this company based in Canada. That means the scenario would be similar with Android P update too. If the BB does not have any surprise launch in the line, then probably the present devices also would not get the update.

    Essential

The second generation Essential phone is expected to be on the market in the last part of this year which will run on Android Oreo. The previous OG PH-1 that had the Nougat during its manufacture and had updated to Oreo will also have an update of Android P that will happen at the end of the year. Utilizing Project Treble, Oreo will make the updates to happen faster.

    Gionee

There has been no plan by the Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Gionee to update its Smartphone to Oreo. So, it is assumed that they would not have the update for the Android P either. Instead of that, the new smartphones with the latest OS version will be launched in the market anytime in the year 2019.

    Google

While this post is being written, the users of Google Pixel 2 and Google Pixel can already download and install the latest Preview 1 of Android P on their handset. Before the launching of the stable version in the Q 3 2018, testing will be carried out extensively for months.

    HTC

The Android P will see smooth up gradation in respect to the HTC handset as it has already rolled out Android Oreo 8.0 update to a substantial amount of its handset. We earnestly expect that the Android P update will be given to all the HTC Though chances are there of not happening it. On the other hand, the final lists of the Smartphone of HTC that will receive the update of P have not yet been finalized. Outside U series, it is expected that no other previous series will receive an update of P.

    Huawei

If you look at the updates of the software, then Huawei has always been at the forefront of all other smartphone vendors. Huawei Smartphone is one of the first brands that have releases Smartphone with Oreo version. The company has also upgraded most of the Smartphone of Honor and Huawei to Oreo. If this track record is taken into account, then Android P will also be inducted in the better way to the Huawei phones. The Mate 20series which is expected to release this year will have the Android P.

    LG

The LG had initially planned with the MWC 2018 and LG G7 as the comeback model this year which actually didn’t see the daylight as the company is not performing well. Despite all the issue of finance, LG however never compromised with the update of software. So the transforming to Android P will not be rendered negative. There are fewer latest devices so that it will be possible.

    Motorola

If you are looking for the rapid update of the software, then Motorola is never the on the go OEM and therefore will slightly disappoint you. However, this company which is owned by Lenovo has the probability of upgrading the plethora of its smartphone to P., But they will be mainly restricted to the Moto Z series. The list of Android Oreo update includes the Moto G4 Plus. The Moto G5S Plus and Moto G5 cannot be assumed for the same list though. However, it is our earnest wish that all the previous year manufactured Moto G series will get the Android P update.

The manufacturing of Android One smartphone only has been a surprise announcement by Nokia. Excluding the Android, Go operated Nokia 1 the list includes all the smartphones that have been released this year. Still, Nokia 1 will get the Android P update as promised by HMD. It implies that all the latest phones of the Nokia series too will receive the update. Nokia 8 Sirocco and the other similar phone will get the update just when the Google Pixels will get one.

    OnePlus

OnePlus 2 could not be updated to Nougat that disappointed a large number of its fan. But OnePlus improved its performance by upgrading its latest handset. That is said, there is probably rare chance of getting its Oreo smartphone with Android P update.

    Oppo

When it comes to the update of software, then Oppo is not definitely the best one. Be it significant updates of OS or regular updates; the Chinese OEM undergoes very less amount of updates. If we observe this pattern, it is pronounced that the latest Oppo R11s Plus and Oppo R11 have almost mil chance of getting the Android P update.

However, if any miracle happens, we will be happy let you know about it. But for now, it is better to tick off Oppo smartphone if you are thinking to buy a smartphone with latest OS.

Update: So, the miracle that was expected has happened, thanks to the Oppo R15 Pro which is news for having eligibility of updating to Android P. If you want, you can already download the preview version of the OS in this Smartphone.

    Samsung

Android P will be given to all the high budget phones of Samsung that were released between 2017 2018. We do not have the confirm news, but maybe some of the mid-budget Smartphone like Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ will have the Android P updates. Contrastingly all the Galaxy J and Galaxy S series that will be releasing this year with pre-install; led Android Oreo will be eligible for P update.

Samsung is planning to upgrade Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 to Oreo that was released three years ago. It implies that Galaxy S7 series will be gradually eligible for Android P. Our fingers are crossed for this assumption!

For now, it is wise to say that if you have top-notch Galaxy S7 and the series that were announced on and before 2016 will not get the update of Android P. If you do not have either Galaxy Note 8 or Galaxy S8 series, do not have a high hope even if your model is from 2017. Note 8 and S8 will definitely get P with S9 and S9+.

    Sony

One of the non-Google OEM which is non-consistent in the matter of software update is Sony. The reason is that the manufacturer invests mainly in the AOSP. This will, it is hoped, will speed up the update of Android P.

Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 compact of this year will get the first update of Android P. They will be followed nearly by the similar model of 2017. However, there is no expectation of upgrading the Xperia X 2016. The positive thing is that the mid-budget smartphone of Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia XA2 will get the Android P at the beginning of 2019. There are possibilities that the 2018 smartphones of Sony will come up with pre-installed P.

    Vivo

Just like Oppo, Vivo too is irregular with the software update. But recently, company’s newly released Vivo X21 UD and Vivo X21 is running on the beta program of Android P. It hints that the phones that will roll out this year will get Android P update.

    Xiaomi

When it comes to software updates, sadly Xiaomi do not fare well. But the OEM of China is improving now. We are expecting multiple smartphones will be converted to Android P. However Xiaomi actually plans to update only a few of its Smartphone that will include Mi MIX 2 and Mi 6 of 2017.

The latest update that the 2016 OG Mi MIX, Mi Note 2 and Mi 5 will receive is the Android Oreo. Apart from these it is better not to expect the much loved Redmi Note 4 and latest Note 5 Pro and Redmi Note 5 will have P update but will get an update to Oreo.

Though ZTE has many Smartphone in the market yet only the series of Axon 7 of the year, 2016 have received Oreo update. Do not expect their phones to have Android P update. Chances are there that only Nubia Z17s and Nubia Z17 of 2017 will have the upgrade.

    Other Android OEMs

Only the most popular Smartphone manufacturers have been included in the list. Other companies like Micromax, Lava, Meizu, LeEco, Xolo, YU, etc. are excluded because these smartphones almost do not get updates. However, if there is any change in the scenario, then the details of Android P update will be updated in this post, But does not wish for more!

If you do not see your device in this list that is because we don’t think it will get Android P update. If you have further information and query, then you can write in the below comment section, and we will try to respond soon enough!
